GREENSPACES & GREENWAYS IN AUBURN, AL
(SPRING '22)

This was a studio project in which we were tasked with developing a plan of any kind for Auburn, Alabama. I noticed some gaps in the pedestrian and multi-use infrastructure as well as areas lacking in recreational opportunities.

MODIFYING FORM TO CREATE PUBLIC SPACE
(FALL '21)

This was a set of renderings I completed that illustrate how modifications to the form of urban blocks can create public space in very dense areas. The final image depicts how this concept can be extrapolated to create a network of public space throughout this dense development in India.

HEALTHCARE ACCESS IN THE BLACK BELT REGION
(FALL '21)

This project utilized ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Storymaps to create a presentation analyzing access to healthcare in the Black Belt Region of Alabama. This involved large-scale data collection, geocoding, and network analysis to produce the final interactive map.

N 8TH ST. & N RAILROAD AVE.

(SUMMER '21)

This project involved a currently vacant corner lot in the heart of downtown Opelika. Its current use is an overflow parking lot, which was not intended by the city. The city's vision for this lot was that the building on the left would eventually transition to a restaurant, and would like to see this space utilized as outdoor seating.

I was tasked with creating a rendering of what such a renovation may look like, in order to show the current landlord.

Downtown Opelika is a story of reuse, as most of the buildings used to be warehouses or shipping centers. This building was no exception, so one element of my design was to transform the big garage door into a window for bar seating or perhaps service.

N 10TH ST. & 2ND AVE.
(SUMMER '21)

Their project was a comprehensive area transformation, which was utilized to guide the city's vision in a key area of town. This area feels disconnected from the city center and loses out on foot traffic as compared to the nearby city center.

S 9TH ST. & S RAILROAD AVE.
(SUMMER '21)

This project proposed modifications to a rear parking lot that was shared by multiple businesses. The goal was to transform the parking lot into a common dining/public area.

I utilized trees and planters to create natural divisions between the areas designated for each business with a common path to pass through the space.

FLORAL PARK

(SUMMER '21)

This project involved an existing public park in the city of Opelika. I was tasked with creating a site plan that matched the city's vision in order to show a potential consultant for full plans and drawings.

Some of the main goals of my design were to bring parking closer to the multiple pavilions, and vise versa. With the main feature of the park being the turf sport field and playground, it is expected that these pavilions will be used for events. With this in mind, the thought of closing the distance between pavilions and parking lots had carrying coolers or other event materials in mind.

S 10TH ST. & COLUMBUS AVE.

(SUMMER '21)

This project involved an existing lot that contained a water filtration box and enclosure directly in its center, posing a tricky situation for getting the most out of the space. The good news was that the utility companies said that the box could be relocated anywhere within the boundaries of the lot. The client wanted to eventually develop a drive through restaurant on the lot, and tasked me with developing a site plan and renderings for the orientation that he desired.

MLK CORRIDOR

(SPRING '21)

This studio project involved a historic area of Auburn that is currently experiencing economic decline. In coordination with the Auburn Corridor Investment Group, each student in the studio was tasked with coming up with a complete redesign plan for the area.

MONTGOMERY SCHOOL DISTRICTS

(SPRING '20)

In this project, I analyzed the city of Montgomery's school districts and where they were located in relation to areas of differing income. The result of this analysis was the realization that lower income neighborhoods had to travel significantly further to their districted schools.

My proposal involved the addition of a couple of new schools as well as redistricting of current schools to significantly decrease travel times.

DUDLEY HALL COURTYARD

(SUMMER '19)

This studio project involved redesigning a key area of Auburn's campus, the Dudley Hall Courtyard, which is in the middle of the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction's building. The main goals were to promote outdoor learning as well as relaxation, while maintaining efficient travel pathways through the space.

My concept was inspired by a jungle. There is nothing more relaxing and serene than the sound of running water and leaves blowing in the wind. To achieve this, I designed the space to be packed with trees and have a stream meander through it. I also placed various sized stone cylinders throughout, to be used by students for seating or to do work.
